Dear all, we have a problem with the new scheduler. We have plenty of work in the queue, but it is not able to reach out of the building. We are investigating the issue. In the meantime, if anybody manages to get new work, can you please post here? | |

OK -- will do -- no success yet -- I just tried. Per your earlier request, in about a half hour, I expect to have a completed workunit on one of my workstations, I will let it complete, upload it, and after a failed effort at getting new work, since that workstation will have no queued work, I will do a project reset and report back. Dear all, we have a problem with the new scheduler. We have plenty of work in the queue, but it is not able to reach out of the building. We are investigating the issue. No, the project has a problem with the scheduler -- affects us all. Given the time of night back in Spain, this may not get resolved until sometime tomorrow. Hopefully it will get solved by then as the weekend is nigh.. Same thing here. | |

I also may have to reset the project as I'm getting the file not found too, But I'll wait as I have 2 files I'm working on still, One will be done in about 44 minutes and the other might be another 5:30 hours before I can do a reset. | |

Please don't care for the download errors, the important is that you are able to get good wus eventually. You can abort wus with dl errors. | |

I've three almost identical PCs,one runs all ok,the second is ok but sometimes get the ".... is not available for your type of computer",the third one get that message any time,the only way to get 1 task is upload the complete task,detach it from the project and then join it again. | |

I have had the "..... not available for your computer ...." error off and on for a while now (pre-dating by a long time this schedular problem). I found if I ignored it, and the WU in progress got down to the cache size set in preferences, it then for some reason seemed a happy bunny (cache is set at 0.1 on my PC), and downloaded the next to be crunched (around 2hours prior to predicted end date). | |

For a while I stopped picking up new tasks, got error messages such as server not available and no work for your type of system. For the last 2 days I have been getting tasks as normal. If you look in your logs (or the Messages Tab) you might notice that its typically preceeded by a request for cpu work. It depends on what BOINC version you are running if it will tell you this by default, or you may need to turn on the <sched_op_debug> flag. The last 2 versions (6.6.36 and 37) seem to mention things like "requesting work for cpu" by default. ____________ BOINC blog | |

The "Full-atom molecular dynamics on Cell processor is not available for your type of computer" is misleading: it merely says that the Cell-specific application can't be used on your computer, which is obvious and harmless. For our accelerated monsters, there is the CUDA-specific application and the corresponding heap of WUs. | |
