I've searched everywhere, but can't determine why my Boinc manager isn't using my GPU. The GPU shows in the computer profile. Does the GPU get tested when checking the benchmarks? Can't figure out why my cuda isn't working. I'm using the 185 driver from the nVidia cuda drivers page for Ubuntu 8.10. This isn't a GPUGrid specific problem. Perhaps there's a missing path, the kernel module is being built wrong or there's a module that I need to load in addition to nvidia?

Did you add the user BOINC to the group "video users"?

Did you install the drivers from the Nvidia website or from the Ubuntu repositories? My experience was that only the Nvidia website drivers would allow the cuda device to be seen. I had some difficulty installing these drivers with Ubuntu 8.10 but it worked easily with Ubuntu 9.04. The only problem with the drivers from the Nvidia website is that you have to reinstall them with every kernel upgrade.
