Hi, I had the same problem as you a couple days ago (295gtx / vista). My runs failed with 6.10.xx and cuda 2.3.

Following advice from this forum and the BOINC one,I resorted back to older versions of both NVIDIA drivers and the boinc client but ran into repeated boinc crashes with 6.6.38

I then went back to the latest NVIDIA drivers and installed boinc 6.6.36 which, according to some folks, should run fine with the 295 assuming the proper graphics drivers are installed. I can't tell you yet what the outcome is, as the tasks are still running. I'll let you know...

hello again,
yesterday's runs went fine so i can confirm that the following combination works:

CPU type: GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 11]
Coprocessors: [2] NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 (896MB) driver: 19062
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium x86 Edition, (06.00.6000.00)
BOINC client version: 6.6.36
Memory: 2548.56 MB
Cache: 488.28 KB
Swap space: 5291.13 MB

I didn't link to my pc because I might change my config some day, which would make this post meaningless, so I'm copy/pasting the important info.

Good luck...
pwa

Thanks for your response,
I have tried the Nvidia Drivers and Boinc as per your reply but the situation is the same

Try turning your clocks back to stock to see if that helps.

hi, i am running cuda2.3 and boinc 6.10.17.
and a gtx 285.
the other day i start to have all computing error all of a sudent
the work start for a few seconds, then stop and computing error was indicated
i try reverting back to previous boinc client , to no avail.
until i spot something odd. the date was wrong.
overnight the pc seem to have rebooted and came back with the wrong date.
after i reset the date to the correct one, it seem to work fine now.
dont now if it help but ,he, you never now.

I'd just try to RMA it, the 1'st 295 I had would never run the Wu's either without error. After I RMA'ed it the Card I got back ran them fine ...

There was a problem with some of the WUs, not your card. Are they running without error now?
