Looks like I found a minor bug: Yeah I get that problem too, also when attatching to a new project, it does not show up the new project in the Projects tab. And also when connecting to my other computers, via boinc manager it always brings up the attach to project thing. ____________ Down with the Kredit Kops!!!

Same problem here in the 32bit XP and 64bit Vista version. Also the 6.3.10 is a memory pig. After a runtime of one day or a little bit more the BOINC manager needs up to 1 GB RAM while running multiple projects. A restart helps, but this is not the fine method, I prefer systems running without baby sitting.

A restart helps, but this is not the fine method, I prefer systems running without baby sitting. I have not noticed Boinc Manager using a lot of memory. I am running XP x64 both computers have been running for nearly 3 days and boincmgr.exe is using about 3MB on each one. ____________ Down with the Kredit Kops!!!

Just checked again my both Vista 64 bit machines. On the Phenom 9950 BE with the GTX280 the BOINCMGR.EXE use 1,460,524 K, after the restart 5,308 K. On my Phenom 9850 BE with the 8800GT they use 856,912 K, after the restart 4,740 K. On my XP 64 bit machine BOINCMGR.EXE only use 26,408 K.

How long does it usually take before it shows such a high memory usage? I installed Vista x64 +SP1 +updates last night, it's been running for just over 13 hours and boincmgr.exe shows 5,572K, this is on an Intel Q6600 with a 8800GT. ____________ Down with the Kredit Kops!!!

I've checked it again and have watched it on the taskmanager. When the boincmanager is open, they grow in memory constantly. When I close the manager, the memory consumption stagnate. When I reopen the boincmanager with double click, the consumption start again constantly. While I had the boincmanager always open, they grow over night up to 1,5 GB in memory. ____________

That should be helpful information for the Devs, thanks!

my memory usage for boincmgr.exe has only grown 1 MB in the past 2 days, from 117mb to 118mb. And no, I have not closed it or restarted BOINC or the comp.

Well, on XP32 it's 4.4 MB, according to task manager.

The bug for communication with BOINCview is fixed changeset 15920. 6.3.10 clients now remain shown as active. Tested with two versions of BV 1.5.b8 and 1.2.6. Yes, (as Keith already reported elsewhere) it was finally fixed in changeset 15942. I've successfully tested the both patches on 6.3.8 and BOINCview was extremely happy with such client ;-) (although not me, knowing how inefficiently BoincView communicates, but that's another story). To be expected in BOINC 6.3.11, just Rom Walton is on holiday AFAIK, thus no ETA. Peter

I'm running two GTX 280's on BOINC 6.3.10 and it says it is only finding one. Anyone have some suggestions to test if the computer is recognizing both cards? I'm pretty new to all this, so, any input is greatly appreciated.

Hello, When I run that GPU-Z it says that the SLI is disabled. It does not give me the option to enable it either...?

Hello, !UPDATE! Even when I disconnected that SLI bridge, it still said there was only one...what else can I try?
ID: 2242 | Rating: 0 | rate: / Reply Quote
Sorry, I can't help much further, as I neither have SLI nor Windows...

I think I read somewhere that if you are running Vista, you need a monitor hooked to both cards for vista to detect both. Not sure on this though.

Might the changeset 15915 apply to this problem? Did previous BOINC versions say that you do have two cards? (You can read more about in the [boinc_alpha] BOINC 6.3.10 XP x64 archive thread). I just installed it on my XP64 system. The Projects tab is blank. And that's a problem, because I cannot go to the projects tab, to allow other projects to resume getting work.

Edit: After finally downloading a PS3GRID task and starting to crunch, all the projects on the project tab re-appeared. Go figure. Sounds like the refreshing issue discussed earlier. MrS ____________ Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002

I think I read somewhere that if you are running Vista, you need a monitor hooked to both cards for vista to detect both. Not sure on this though. I saw this in the cuda forum. - To use multiple GPUs, under Vista each additional GPU must have a desktop extended onto it. This means for now Tesla is not available under Vista, only GeForce and Quadro cards. XP will still work fine on Tesla C870 and D870. I do not have VISTA, but someone with may be able to figure this out and get 2 GPUs working.
