Back in June a GTX760 OEM was released. In August two more OEM cards were released; another GTX760 OEM and a GTX760Ti.

These cards are all GK104, use GDDR5 and are PCIe3.0 x16 capable.

GPU Memory Bandwidth GPU clock Memory clock Shaders/TMUs/ROPs
    GTX 760 OEM 3072 MB 256 bit 823 MHz 1400 MHz 1152 / 96 / 32 GTX 760 Ti OEM 2048 MB 256 bit 915 MHz 1502 MHz 1344 / 112 / 32 GTX 760 OEM 2048 MB 192 bit 980 MHz 1502 MHz 1152 / 96 / 24 GTX 760 non-oem 2048 MB 256 bit 980 MHz 1502 MHz 1152 / 96 / 32

The GTX760Ti-OEM is a special card; essentially it's a GTX670. This makes it the fastest NVidia OEM available and the choicest.

The 3GB version of the GTX760-OEM also has a full 256bit bandwidth, but with only 1152 shaders and a lower clock (823MHz) it's performance for GPUGrid could be around 30% slower than the GTX760Ti-OEM.

The June version of the GTX760-OEM only has a 192bit bus, so that would hinder performance somewhat and a non-OEM version would be slightly faster. However the GTX760 only has 1152 shaders, so the narrower bus won't hinder performance as much as with a non-OEM GTX660Ti (as it has 1344 shaders). As the GTX760-OEM has a faster GPU clock it should match the 3GB version for performance here, but cost a bit less.

Anyway, good lineup to chose from.

Wow, what a madness! I wouldn't mind an official GTX760 Ti OEM with a name like GTX765 (and probably slightly higher clocks to deserve that name), but since it's only OEM we can't buy this nice card anyway.

On the surface it's mad; there is a 33% performance gap between the GTX770 and the GTX760. However, from a business point of view its ingenious; it's the very performance gap between the GTX770 and the GTX760 that will allow NVidia to sell off their remaining GTX670's, and the fact that there is nothing in the GTX700 series below the GTX760 allows them to continue production and gracefully wind up their mid-range GTX600 cards (GTX650 through to the GTX660Ti).

At the same time you pay a premium for the GTX700 series, including the GTX760Ti OEM card, which will obviously keep OEM's very happy.

For crunching the GTX670 and GTX660Ti are a bit faster than the GTX760, and the GTX670 and GTX660Ti cost less. Obviously good news for us. Conversely the GTX760 marginally outperforms the GTX660Ti when it comes to gaming - which is obviously where most of the sales will come from.

Next year, before Maxwell turns up, we might see NVidia fill out the GTX700 series with high end cards such as a GTX760Ti (non-OEM)/GTX765 and possibly one or two dual GPU cards, and in the mid-range add the obvious GTX750Ti, GTX750, possibly some sort of Boost card and eventually add low end GTX740's and the like.
