My 980ti is getting about 70-80 usage on long tasks, which seems to be about average, but is there anyway to bump it up to 80-90? Running 2 tasks takes it to 92%, but I'd rather do a task at a time. | |

My 980ti is getting about 70-80 usage on long tasks, which seems to be about average,GPU Usage varies by task type and operating system. For WDDM impacted OS's that's generally about right. You should however note that return time is way more important than GPU usage or power usage or GPU clock. All are just indicators of performance and as a general rule of thumb increasing each increases the speed (task throughput). but is there anyway to bump it up to 80-90?I can get ~82% GPU usage constantly running most GERRARD tasks, if I tweak Boinc settings and the GPU a bit using NVIDIA Inspector and MSI Afterburner. So you should be able to get up to 80% GPU usage or perhaps slightly above (depending on architecture) without running 2 tasks simultaneously. I've enabled swan_syncWon't help much, but ever bit helps. I also force my GDDR to run at 3506MHz rather than the 3005 which it would otherwise default to (GTX970's). That reduces the MCU, which is a minor bottleknect. The biggie with SWAN_SYNC is that you need to free up a CPU thread to see much benefit with it. I like to run with two or three CPU threads free to optimise for GPU crunching. I set my memory speed at 3506 as I read about the whole p2 issue. That bumped speed up to a consistent 77-78%, if its the only project it can hit up to 85% usage, but oddly each thread I free up only increases the usage by maybe a single percent. I think I'm happy to leave it as is. | |
