test756-TONI_GSNTEST3-1-100-RND0349

This WU running on my RTX is only using 15-17% GPU load.

Any ideas how to increase?

GPU temp is 20*C

Run the card in Linux. Or with swan_sync in Windows.

Or with swan_sync in Windows.

from what Toni wrote in another thread: with the new ACEMD app, the swan_sync setting in Windows is no longer required.

I posted before Toni said swan_sync is no longer used. The other reason is that you are not providing enough cpu support for the task on the 2080 Ti. That card should gobble data very fast. I would provide at least a full cpu thread for the gpu task.

My RTX 2070 SUPER is very similar. GPU load is 18-19%.

My RTX 2070 SUPER is very similar. GPU load is 18-19%.

You should reduce the number of CPU tasks running on your system.
BOINC manager -> Options -> Computing Preferences -> Computing tab -> Use at most 99% of the CPUs
You can reduce it further if needed.
On HT/SMT (two threads per core) CPUs you can reduce this percentage to 50.
To achieve maximum GPU performance there should be no CPU tasks running at all (or 1 CPU task at most).

I have no issues running all of my available physical threads on cpu tasks. I let the virtual or HT threads support the gpus. So overall cpu utilization normally runs from 62-75%. All my gpus stay at 98% utilization. Everything from a RTX 2080, GTX 1080 Ti to a lowly 1070.

Thanks I know that but it doesn't change even when I turn CPU tasks off and run just the GPU task - always around 19% GPU usage. 9300 seconds runtimes on new WUs doesn't look bad so maybe task manager is wrong?

Oh, now I know where this low reading came from.
There is many aspects of GPU usage, and the default settings of Windows task manager don't show the right ones for crunching.
The reading of 17% is labeled "Copy".
You should change one of the four graphs to "Cuda" to get the right graph.

I still recommend to reduce the usable CPUs to 50% on HT/SMT (two threads per core) CPUs. (You can ignore my other recommendations.)

CUDA usage shows around 98% so GPU is busy for sure, thank you :)

Process Lasso your CPU tasks to all but 1 thread and allow the GPU exe to use the last one. I do this in Windows. Process Lasso will keep your affinity the next time it starts up.

+1 for the Process Lasso recommendation for Windows. "Must-have" utility.

Hi,

I have 2 RTX 2080 Ti on my computer.
Cuda 92 tasks : ERROR while computing after 10 seconds.
Cuda 101 tasks : OK.
Is it possible to have only cuda 101 tasks ?
How can I do please to only download cuda 101 tasks ?

Update your NVidia drivers.
Update Windows 7 to Windows 10.
You can still do it for free if you can get a Windows 10 v1607 installer. (choose not to get updates at the setup screen.)
The support for Windows 7 is ended on 14. January 2020. There will be no more security updates for this OS.

One possibility is to use a faster CPU to give the GPU work to do faster.

Doing this may require a new motherboard.

What do I need to change in Process Lasso to tell it to always leave one thread available for GPUGRID or just GPU tasks in general? This is my first time using Process Lasso and I'm really only using it for this one application.

I'm really grasping at providing information from memory. Been a long while since I used Process Lasso and Windows.

There should be a right click menu when hovering over a current task or application that produces an affinity setting menu.

You can toggle odd or even threads to be active for the application or even toggle individual threads to be assigned to the application. Just by ticking the box next to the thread number.

There also should be a way to set a "rule" in the dropdown menus for setting affinities. When you still can't find the information, use the help resource in the application. Also great information and help in the BitSum forums.

He should change the priority of the work unit to High but not Real. Real time would lock up his system. Physical cores are better than the HT cores if I remember.
