My current top card is a GTX 1050TI, but that seems to be falling behind with these new tasks that are being tested.
What is the the next mid level card that would be under 250 Euro/Dollar.
I would prefer to stay under 200 if possible.
I have been using GE Force forever, so it would seem strange to use a MSI card.
RTX appears to be out of budget for now.
So I guess that leaves me something in GTX world.
What do you guys suggest? |

I do have an GTX1660ti and a GTX1650. The GTX1660ti is about twice as fast as the GTX1650. And although FP32: 2,661 GFLOPS of my GTX1650 is lower than the GTX970 FP32: 3,498 GFLOPS it uses about the same time to complete a WU @ half the power consumption.
Therefore: I woudn´t buy a last generation card, and I think the GTX1650 SUPER might be a quite interesting card for BOINC projects in the price range you are giving. |

RTX without winning the lottery did not offer me much more than my current 1050. I'll have a look at the 1650 series.

The GTX 1660 is just a "smidge" over $200.~$219 Much better than the 1650. See if you can stretch your budget. Or haunt the "Black Friday" deals. |

Also power consumtion should be considered.
GTX 1650 will process ACEMD3 with about +42% performance increase than GTX 1050Ti at the same rated TDP of 75W.
GTX 1660 will offer a better performance, but its rated TDP is 120W. This will increase your power bill accordingly...

I still think the GTX1650 SUPER or the GTX1660ti will be the better choices:
GTX 1650 1485 / 2000 4096 MB GDDR5 128b 896 : 56 : 32- 75W
GTX 1650 SUPER 1530 / 1500 4096 MB GDDR6 128b 1280 : 80 : 32 100W
GTX 1660 (SUPER) 1530 / 1750 6144 MB GDDR6 192b 1408 : 88 : 48 120W
GTX 1660 Ti 1500 / 1500 6144 MB GDDR6 192b TU116-400 1536 : 96 : 48 120W
The GTX1650 SUPER has a lot more cuda cores as the GTX1650 non super, as the GTX1660 has the same power bracket as the GTX1660TI with less CUDA Cores. So I expect that the GTX SUPER will perform quite in the middle of my GTX1650 and 1660ti, with a lower price as GTX1660ti.

Another option is the p102-100 mining card. It is equivalent to the GTX-1080Ti but lacks video out. It does have pins at the top edge for SLI but I do not have a real GTX-1080Ti to test SLI on. I got a used one on ebay for USD $259 free ship. Works fine with BOINC. Have a second one on order.

I cant find the P102 here in Europe as a new card.
But I can get from Amazon Germany the following:

I seem to remember the Armor label meaning it could take more abuse?

What is the difference between these?
Then in 570 series it is just this: ASUS AMD Radeon RX 570 Expedition
590 is a bit out of what I would like to spend, but if I can get 5-6 years out of it before it becomes a dino then I might consider it. The 570 and 580's are more in my price range.

So a couple of more questions for you guys
Any real super significant difference in power between the 1660 and the 1650 that would have me spend the extra money? Is there something that can be quantified long term (5 years or more) that would make the 1660 better?
Then all the different manufactures and flavors of these cards has me scratching my head.
MSI,ASUS,GIGABYTE
Armor,Founder,OC Edition,Storm X boost, etc.
What works best for just video display (no gaming) and crunching this project and other GPU projects on BOINC that does not cost me a small fortune (over 200-250 Euro/Dollars). I would prefer to keep under 200 if possible.
