Forum publishing minitips

Well, I confess I'm a harware enthusiast. And of knowledge sharing, also.
Linking these two hobbies, I decided to open a thread at GPUGrid's Forum, called "The hardware enthusiast's corner"
I started with a very low practice on publishing, you'll immediately realize by watching at my first posts.
Then it was evolving with time and investigation, and now I've learnt some tricks, perhaps being of interest for someone else...

-Point 01)
The very first I learnt was that GPUGrid's server is not storing external images more than avatars and some (ancient) user profiles ones.
So I searched for a site offering free web hosting in exchange for renting my own ServicEnginIC.com domain.
All images I want to share are stored there.

-Point 02)
After this, at my starting level, if I had wanted to point to "The hardware enthusiast's corner" thread, it would have looked like this:

http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=5010

And the code for this is:

and are respectively the starting and ending label markers that indicate that the contents in between is an URL (a WEB address)
Clicking over it, the pointed web contents will be openend.

-Point 03)
Another example of label: the one used if you want to highlight some section in text.
The difference between "This Text" and "This Text" is this "Bold" label applied to the second.
As a general rule, every label starts delimited by brackets, and ends the same but adding a bar at left of it.

-Point 04)
The following interesting label: the one indicating that the contained URL has to be shown directly as an image. Its code is as follows:

It seems to be text, but you can download it as a .png image by right clicking over it and selecting to Save image as...

-Point 05)
There is an specific label to quote some previous comments.
For example, I'm quoting a recommendation I made at the end of my first post at "The hardware enthusiast's corner" thread:

For hardware enthusiasts, I'll finish recommending this PappaLitto's thread:
https://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=5006

This example has two embedded labels: the one indicating it is a quoted comment, and the inside label pointing an external URL.
The code for this:

-Point 06)
But I think it is more readable to employ a link, better than indicating a long URL.
I consider that example on previous Point 05 would look better like this:

For hardware enthusiasts, I'll finish recommending this PappaLitto's thread:

The code:

Here, the URL is indicated in the first part of the code, and the link's label in the second part.

As a second example, returning to Point 02, I'd better point like this to "The hardware enthusiast's corner" thread.
The code:

-Point 07)
And I reserved my favorite for the last.
I took the idea from this nice Toni's greeting message
The main subject is a beautiful seasonal picture at the center of the message, that gets magnified when clicking over it.
The full size image would overflow the page, so it is an elegant way to lead at it by means of a reduced one.
I remember I thought: If Toni can do it, perhaps I could do it also (?)
May be...

This is a link at which the label employed is a reduced version of the full size image.
The code for this:

Casually, I've chosen a self taken picture of a canarian cactus.
Its flowers are quite ephemeral, they last only a few days, and in this picture can be seen flowers at incipient state, in blossom, and decaying ones.
It's very rare to find something like this.
And casually (or not), I took it as an allegory to my avatar picture.
The meaning: Scientific research may transit spiny ways, but sometimes this lead to wonderful flowers, and then to fruits (!)

Finally:
For software experts, probably all of this will sound very elementary.
But everybody started once a time. When I started, I didn't know any of this.
And always there is somebody starting...
