it's a common bug that tasks can fail if restarted. usually you'll get an error saying that you cannot restart a task on a different device, even sometimes (but more rarely) on a single GPU system. did you install updates or update the video drivers between restarting BOINC? sometimes even that can make the app think something is different.

the best way to make sure this does not happen is to not interrupt running tasks. don't restart BOINC and don't restart the system.

It crashed again.
Maybe it crashed because i added <fraction_done_exact/> to app_config?

<app_config>
<app>
<name>acemd3</name>
<fraction_done_exact/>

</app>
</app_config>

Clarification: I received a new task and it crashed immediately.

Undo whatever was the last thing you did that broke your system.

Check to be sure you have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable

Why do tasks crash if <fraction_done_exact/> is present in app_config.xml?

I have it in my app_config.xml, and my tasks doesn't crash. This option does not change anything in the app, it changes the way the BOINC manager calculate the remaining time displayed. However the calculation of the remaining time for scheduling task requests is always the same (regardless of this option).
