In about 12 hours I'll take a look into this. I'll make sure I am and post my results. It is just the way I thought. As well I as boinc are members of group video. (judging from the contents of the group files). So to make sure, my findings reflect what the system itself says, I'd like to check once more using some tool. (not using "less", but something that can ask the system) Any idea what I might use ? TIA, Alfred

To make the long story short: I solved it the easy way. I uninstalled/deleted all installations of boinc and started a new installation with all files and directories owned by myself. This works "right out of the box". The only small problem I still have to solve is: how do I run it as a service in the background? But this question I will answer myself for me. In about 12 hours I'll take a look into this. I'll make sure I am and post my results.
