I dated it just in case final version of 6.6.x comes out tomorrow, lol. Just curious if anybody has found a version that works properly after 6.5.0. There are 15 versions to choose from, after all.

I'm using 6.6.15 on a 64-bit Linux box (openSuSE 11.1 and KDE 4.2). Nvidia drive 180.37, because 185.13 breaks CUDA. No issues with this driver setup or with BOINC.

There is a rather steady stream of reports on 6.6.15 and its issues... so ... watch it carefully ...

Just curious if anybody has found a version that works properly after 6.5.0. I have no issues with 6.6.11 running it since February 25th. (Since today I'm trying 6.6.17) ____________

I have had used several versions lately and have had good success. I run a quad core with 2xGTX 260 core 216's, a quad core with a single GTX 260 core 216 and a quad core with a 8800GT. All are accepting work, both CPU (WCG only) and GPU based (GPUGRID). The fact that I only run a single CPU project likely explains my positive experiences vs. others that run multiple CPU projects concurrently.

I have tried several of the 6.6.xx versions but always go back to 6.5.0 due to multiple problems...........

Well 6.6.15 wasn't too bad. 6.6.17 seems to be better, more agressive about maintaining a cache for cpu work (gpu work has been fine since 15). I think they will be a while before they get a fully functioning one but its slowly getting there. They are still fine tuning the work-fetch side of things. ____________ BOINC blog

For me these newer versions arent very good since i don't want 4 workunits cached because of the slowness of my card.

I'm now on 6.6.17 on 64-bit linux. The INITIAL download was 4 tasks because I have a quad-core CPU. However, as those tasks have completed, I now only have ONE active task, and I do not receive a new task until it is about 75% complete. So currently, I only have one task, as I only have a 9600 GSO, single card. As I add additional cards to this I'm sure I will get more tasks. Seems to me it's working OK, except the initial download was based on the # of cpu cores, not GPU processors. FWIW.

I'm on 6.5.0 works for me, staying there until a new final release. All the ones after 6.4.7 are Development versions, not for Production use - they are just consolidations of the various development modules as they get to various stages, needing to recompile to move on with development. Use any post- 6.4.7 at own risk - the latter is a statement of the obvious I am aware, but its often forgotten .... Regards Zy

Webbie, which is the last 6.6.x version which you tried? I'd think they should have fixed this "ignoring no new work" issue by now.

Switched to BOINC v6.6.17 a few days ago. It's using about 30 minutes of CPU time with my 9600GSO on 2883 point WUs versus about 14 minutes with BOINC v6.6.15. One improvement is that the estimated time to completion now seems fairly accurate. WU fetch is working fine for both the GPU and CPU tasks. The first WU it tried would not start and had to be aborted but the next 4 have been fine. The only real improvement I see is the corrected estimated time. The downside is the greater CPU usage, still not too bad though. Running 5 tasks on a Phenom 9600BE with 9600GSO graphics card...

Using 6.6.18 (just started); nothing to report except BM is showing wall time for GPUGrid and estimations are pretty accurate.
